I remember well, in the early days, when most people thought Usenet was the
internet. I originally came on in the early nineties, with a shell account,
i.e.. no pictures, music, etc.
Things really have changed, thanks to "social networking". I used to lurk
this group occasionally, looking for answers to a problem that thankfully
eventually corrected itself. I really do miss the traditional Usenet,
although I am still subscribed to a few groups that are semi-active, but are
under attack by spammers and trolls. Where did all the users of this group,
migrate to?? Or have they just given up?? It is a
shame.........................

Back in 2000 when that thread was up, Usenet news groups were still THE
place to be while online. Before Facebook and Twitter ruled the
Internet, it was all about Usenet. E.D. treatments have come quite a
long way in the last 12 years, and the couple in question may be doing
quite well right now, if they are still together.
